Language-Based Curriculum Overview
Our specialized curriculum for students with learning differences is carefully designed to meet the unique needs of each learner by aligning with the science of reading and best practices in writing instruction. Our reading program focuses on the foundational elements proven to support students with reading challenges, including explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. We use structured, multisensory approaches that engage all learners, ensuring that reading becomes an accessible and empowering skill. In writing, our curriculum emphasizes the writing process, with targeted instruction in spelling, sentence structure, grammar, and organization. By breaking down complex tasks into manageable steps, students build confidence in expressing their thoughts clearly and effectively. Our holistic approach fosters not only literacy development but also the self-esteem and resilience that are essential for lifelong learning and success.
Summer Program
Some regression is expected for all children over the summer months, but learning different children are often profoundly affected by the lapse in instruction. Summer programs focusing on remedial, accelerated, or enriched learning have been shown to have a positive effect on the knowledge and skills of students.
